I had one back in 91. I wouldn’t change my decision. Only thing I wish I had been more informed about was that it would reduce and or cause you not to be able to produce milk for any babies you may have in the future. Surgeries have been enhanced significantly now, compared to when I had it done…so certain procedures aren’t done as commonly now. Make sure that your doc thinks that you are through any chance of puberty as well…mine was done when I was almost 18 and they still grew in the years after surgery. So good luck, and the more research you do, the more prepared you will feel.

PS…Also…if the doc can find that it is a medical necessity because of maybe back pain or bruising on the chest cavity from your bra, insurance will more likely cover it, as long as it is not found to be just a cosmetic choice.
